Trenchless Sewer Repair & Replacement

For many years, the only way to repair a damaged sewer or drain line was to dig it up and replace it. This process was slow, destructive, and expensive. Now, however, advancements in plumbing technology—such as pipe lining—can provide long-lasting repairs and improvements to drains and sewer lines without the added cost and stress of excavation.

Brownie's Septic & Plumbing is a proud plumbing service provider with more than 70 years of experience. Since 1948, we’ve provided our customers in Central Florida with high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service to address their plumbing needs. We regularly assist residential and commercial customers, so no property is too big or too small for our plumbing pros to handle.

What Is Pipe Lining?

Pipe lining is the process of replacing or repairing a pipe by adhering a thin liner to the interior of the existing pipe. Also known as cured-in-place piping (CIPP), this process begins with a thorough cleaning of the drain or sewer line using hydro-jetting. This removes all dirt, debris, and buildup that may be inside the line.

Once the line is cleaned, a plumber inserts an epoxy resin-coated flexible liner into the existing pipe through an access point such as a manhole or cleanout. The plumber then inflates the liner using air or water pressure, causing it to conform to the shape of the original pipe. The resin within the liner is then cured in place using heat or ultraviolet light, creating a seamless, durable new pipe within the old one.

What Can Pipe Lining Repair?

Pipe lining can be used to repair a wide range of problems, including these:

  • Cracked or broken pipes
  • Pipes that were damaged by tree roots
  • Leaking joints
  • Pipes that were by corrosion or rust
  • Pipes that were damaged by shifting soil or ground settling
  • Pipes that were damaged by construction or other types of work

How Long Does Cured in Place Piping Last?

Cured-in-place piping repairs and replacements can last up to 50 years with proper maintenance. This is possible because the epoxy lining is strong against roots, resists buildup from sediment and waste, and improves overall flow.

Do I Have the Right Pipes for Cured in Place Piping?

Cured-in-place piping is a versatile technique for repairing plumbing lines because it can work on a variety of materials. For example, CIPP can be used on piping materials such as concrete, steel, cast iron, PVC, clay, Orangeburg, and corrugated metal.

If you are unsure if this method could work on your property, our knowledgeable plumbing experts can inspect your system and advise you of your options.
